Flock Project Lantau Island – Bird Murals by Aspire and Plastered 8

This year I kicked off a new project called Flock. The concept is pretty simple, celebrate the beautiful birds that live on Lantau Island by painting them on the abandoned houses scattered across the island. Each empty home becomes a canvas.

I’ve been working with UK street artist Aspire, who I flew over to Hong Kong to create these insane murals. So far, we’ve painted eight birds around the island, and the plan is to add about ten new ones every year. Some are in hard to find place, some in more prominent spots, and one on the roof of a cabin on top of the highest peak on the island.

Up to now, I’ve self-funded the whole thing, but I’ll be launching a crowdfunding campaign soon to help bring the next series to life. The reaction has been amazing, hikers are coming from all over Hong Kong to hunt down the murals.

Here’s a google map I created so you can find the birds.

You can follow the progress on the Flock Facebook page.
